Professional & Non-Municipal Track

    Spatial Editing & GIS

This course focuses on advanced spatial data management within the 1Map environment. Designed for GIS technicians and spatial editors, it provides practical training on layer editing, sandbox workflows, custom data uploads, and spatial validation techniques. Participants will learn how to correct boundary inconsistencies, update attribute data, validate spatial accuracy, and ensure that mapping layers reflect reliable, decision-ready information. The module strengthens technical control over spatial datasets and supports higher levels of mapping integrity across municipal and professional applications.

      Land Surveyors

This course is designed for professional land surveyors working with Survey General (SG) diagrams, cadastral overlays, and georeferenced plans. It demonstrates how to view, validate, and overlay SG diagrams within the spatial environment, verify boundary alignment, and cross-check survey information against mapped property data. Participants will gain practical tools for confirming positional accuracy, detecting discrepancies, and integrating survey documentation into spatial workflows. The focus is on precision, verification, and professional validation of legal boundary data.

Land Valuation (Case Study – Valuers Afrika)

This course examines property valuation alignment using real-world case study examples. It focuses on comparing General Valuations (GV) and Supplementary Valuations (SV) with financial system records and spatial property data. Participants will learn how to detect valuation inconsistencies, perform market alignment checks, and validate valuation workflows against property characteristics and legal records. The module demonstrates how spatial tools support evidence-based valuation processes and improve transparency and defensibility in valuation decisions.

          Town Planning & Built Environment

This course is designed for town planners, architects, estate agents, and built-environment professionals. It introduces the SPLUM workspace and related planning overlays, enabling users to assess zoning visibility, land use classifications, and development constraints within a spatial context. Participants will learn how to evaluate development proposals against regulatory frameworks, overlay planning datasets, and validate compliance requirements. The module supports informed decision-making within planning, development review, and property advisory environments.
